Dubai is the most populous city in the United Arab Emirates and the capital of the Emirate of Dubai. Located on the southeastern coast of the Persian Gulf, it is a global hub for trade, tourism, and finance. As of 2025, Dubai has a population of around 4 million, with expatriates making up over 90% of the residents. 

The city is governed as an absolute monarchy under Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who serves as both the Ruler of Dubai and the UAE’s Vice President and Prime Minister. Dubai operates under the UAE Standard Time (UTC+4) and has a hot desert climate.
